About Me

My name is Joanne Brown and I am a qualified counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Although my core training is in Transactional Analysis, I have an integrative approach to counselling so that my methods are adapted to your individual needs.

My professional background is largely in social care and I have over 20 years experience working with adults in various settings who have needed support or advice, and over the past nine years I have transferred these skills over into developing my counselling career.

Some of the issues I have worked with include addiction, disability, offending, mental health, loss, grief, life limiting illness etc.

Through my extensive experience and training I have worked with people from many walks of life with many different life experiences. I believe that all people are unique and have their own individual needs. Therefore I aim to tailor any support to meet those needs – working together to find the best way for you to feel safe and to create the right environment to make the changes you wish.

I am a warm and compassionate person who is committed to supporting people to make their lives happier, feel more fulfilled and achieve their potential.
